My senior show, Great Expectations, opened and closed this past week and all my months of work have finally come to a close. I started working on this show over the summer with research and inspiration and over fall break I read the script and started sketching what I wanted characters to look like. I am so grateful to have had a stitcher for this project and I was able to design exactly what I wanted and have it made into a reality.
It is going to take a lot of adjusting over the next few weeks to get used to not working on this show since it has taken up so much of my time over the past 8 months. I will always look back on this show with fond memories and I am so happy that I was able to design this show for my final season at SCSA. I adore Dickens and Victorian is one of my all time favorite time periods so being able to really dive into research for the time period was amazing and I learned so much.
I am so thankful for all the opportunities I have had during my undergraduate experience and I would not trade any of them for anything. I have learned so much and grown as a designer and become more confident in what I want and how to make my dreams reality. Thank you to everyone who has taught me, encouraged, or supported me over the past four years. I would not be here without all of you.
