This week I am participating in the KCACTF Region IV conference at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. I went to the conference last year when it was held in Americus, GA and I was nominated for my work on the costume design of Translations.
Since I have not designed my show this year yet I entered two of my unrealized works into the competition.
For anyone who does not know KCACTF is the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and Region IV is the section of the country where my university is a part of the organization. Every year shows by universities and colleges in each region get nominated for the possibility of performing at KC as part of the festival. Actors, musical theatre performers, designers, and technicians also get nominated to go to the festival to present their work and potentially win an award.
There are many different categories and I do not know the most about the festival, but it is so fun and I am so glad to be able to go again before I leave my university after graduation in May. Stay tuned for information about the process, interviewing at KCACTF, and more. See you soon!
